Your hardware

Check the IPTV box you already own before you order

Most living rooms already hide a device that can run a player. Five minutes with the remote tells you which one, and what it needs.

Several streaming sticks and TV boxes lined up beside a remote control
Sticks, boxes and smart TVs all accept the same login from your e-mail.

Start with the remote in your hand

Grab the remote of whatever is plugged into the TV. Press Home, go to Settings, then look for a menu called About, Device or My Fire TV. The model name sits there, along with the system version. Write both on a sticky note: our guides are sorted by device family, and the menus you will meet depend on that name.

While you are in Settings, open Network. You want to see whether the device offers a wired option and which Wi-Fi band it is using. That one screen predicts most of the buffering questions we answer later.

  • Model name noted from the About menu
  • A spare HDMI input on the TV, ideally one marked for 4K
  • Network screen checked: Wi-Fi band or Ethernet
  • The official app store opens and lets you search
  • The remote has working batteries (yes, really)

Once you know the family, the table below shows the players we suggest trying first and where to read the matching walkthrough. Every device in it can use the same plan. You do not need to buy anything new to start, and we do not sell hardware, so there is nothing to upsell here.

If you own a Fire TV Stick

You are ready. It plugs straight into HDMI and finds players in its store. Keep it on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band and away from the back of the TV panel.

Then: open the Fire TV Stick guide
If you own an Android TV box

You have the widest choice of players and usually an Ethernet port. Run a cable from the router if you can; it settles most stutters before they start.

Then: install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro
If your TV is a recent Samsung or LG

Try the built-in route first with Smart IPTV or IBO Player. If the menus feel slow or the app is missing, a stick is the quickest upgrade.

Then: read the box versus smart TV page
If nothing is plugged in yet

Do not rush to a shop. Read what matters in a box first: 4K output, a solid 5 GHz radio, a wired port and an official store.

Then: follow the buying checklist

A quick way to decide: look at the screen your box is plugged into, then at the cable or Wi-Fi feeding the box. A 1080p bedroom set on Wi-Fi gets everything it can show from the Premium Pack. A family that browses series every night tends to enjoy the deeper catalogue of the VIP Premium Pack. A big 4K panel with a wired box is where the Ultimate 4K Pack makes sense, because that is the only setup that can show off its 4K channel line-up.

Premium for the second TV

A kitchen screen, a bedroom set or a cottage TV on Wi-Fi. Plenty of channels and films without paying for 4K depth you will not see.

VIP Premium for series nights

The largest series library of the three. Good when several people in the house each follow their own shows, one after another.

Ultimate 4K for the big screen

Built for a 4K TV with a 4K-capable box on a cable. Plan 25 Mbps for that screen and use an HDMI port that handles 4K.

Match the pack to the weakest link in your chain, not to the biggest number on the page.

Not sure the catalogue carries a language you need? The library includes French-language and international content. For anything more specific, ask support before ordering and you will get a straight answer. Current prices for every pack and duration are on the plans page.

Ordering

From checkout to your first channel

No account to set up on the box, no technician visit, no contract. Here is what actually happens after you click.

  1. At checkout

Choose a pack and a duration

Pick Premium, VIP Premium or Ultimate 4K, then 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. The duration only changes how long access lasts, never which boxes you may use.

  2. Same screen

    Pay once in Canadian dollars

Use a card or PayPal. It is a single payment: nothing is stored to charge you again, and nothing renews on its own.

  3. Within minutes

Your login lands in your inbox

The e-mail holds Xtream Codes details (server URL, username, password) or an M3U link. Keep it open on your phone; you will copy from it.

  4. On the sofa

Enter it in the player on your box

Open the player, choose Xtream Codes, type the three fields with the remote, and the channel list starts loading.

  5. End of the period

    You decide what comes next

Access simply stops when the time runs out. Order again if you want more, with the same or a different pack.

Login not there yet? Look in the spam and promotions folders first, then search your mailbox for the address you used at checkout. Still nothing? Write to support by e-mail or WhatsApp and quote the order e-mail address.

Picking a duration

One month is a sensible first step if you want to see how your own box and your own Wi-Fi behave with a real evening of viewing. Three or six months fit a season of shows. Twelve months suits a household that already knows its setup works and does not want to think about it again. Each option is explained on the 1-month IPTV plan and 12-month IPTV plan pages, and payment methods on paying for your IPTV plan.

How it works

Unbox, install, watch

Connect your box

HDMI into the TV, power on, join your Wi-Fi — or better, plug in an Ethernet cable.

Install a player

From the box’s official store: IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate or XCIPTV.

Enter your login

Type the Xtream Codes details from your e-mail, and your channels load.

Power from the wall adapter, HDMI into a 4K-ready port, cable from the router if you have one.

Cables first, menus second

Before you touch a menu, get the hardware right. Plug the stick or box into the wall adapter that came with it rather than a USB port on the TV: TV ports often deliver too little power and cause random restarts. Use the HDMI input labelled for 4K or ARC if your TV marks them. On a stick, the short HDMI extender in the box moves it away from the metal back of the TV, which helps Wi-Fi.

Then switch the TV input to that HDMI number and wait for the home screen. If the box asks for a system update on first boot, let it finish now. Updating halfway through your first film is far more annoying.

  1. Join the network. Settings, then Network. Choose Ethernet if a cable is plugged in; otherwise pick the 5 GHz name of your router, which often ends in “5G”. Type the Wi-Fi password once and tick the option to remember it.
  2. Set the date, time and region. Still in Settings, check that the clock and time zone match your home. A wrong clock is the most common reason a TV guide shows the wrong programme later.
  3. Open the official store. Press Home, go to the search icon, and type the player name with the on-screen keyboard. Install it from the official listing only; never chase an installer from a website.
  4. Launch the player and pick Xtream Codes. Most players open on a screen that asks which login type you have. Xtream Codes is the easiest with a remote because it uses three short fields instead of a long link.
  5. Type the server URL, username and password. Copy them exactly from the e-mail. Watch for the difference between a capital I and a lower-case l, and between zero and the letter O.
  6. Let the lists load completely. The first sync takes a little while because the player reads the full channel list, the films and the series. Leave the remote alone until the progress indicator stops.
  7. Load the TV guide. In the player settings, find EPG or TV Guide and refresh it. If times look shifted, adjust the time offset by whole hours until programmes line up.
  8. Build a favourites list. Long-press OK on the channels you watch most and add them to a favourites group. That turns thousands of entries into one short row you reach in two presses.

That is the whole first evening. The box setup hub has a dedicated page for each part, including the TV guide on your box when the grid stays empty, and the Xtream Codes on your box page with screenshots of the login screens in each player.

On-screen keyboard

Typing a login with nothing but a remote

The one part of setup people dread. It goes faster with a few tricks and a calm approach.

Player › Add a playlist › Xtream Codes
Living room
from your e-mail
from your e-mail
from your e-mail
Add user

The four fields you will see in most players. The name is yours to choose; the other three come from the e-mail.

Use the long press

On many on-screen keyboards, holding a letter shows its capital or a symbol. That saves trips to the Shift key.

Try voice input

If the remote has a microphone button, it can fill the playlist name. For the server URL, typing is safer than dictation.

Phone as a remote

Some boxes pair with a companion app on your phone that gives you a real keyboard. Check your box’s official store listing.

Check before saving

Scroll back over each field once before pressing Add. A single wrong character is the usual cause of a rejected login.

A small habit that saves time: open the e-mail on your phone and zoom in on the server URL. Read it out in chunks of three or four characters while you type. Make sure you keep the beginning of the address exactly as written, including the part before the colon and any port number after it. Do not add a slash at the end unless the e-mail shows one.

If a player offers both Xtream Codes and M3U, prefer Xtream Codes on a box. An M3U link is one very long line, which is easy to paste on a PC but tiring to type with arrow keys. More shortcuts are on our remote control tips for IPTV page, and the M3U playlist on your box guide covers the cases where a link is the only option.

Keep your login to your own household. The plan allows one stream at a time and the details are tied to your order. Do not post them in a group chat or hand them to friends in another home; if they need access, they can order their own plan.

Three questions narrow it down quickly. First, which family is your box: Android-based (including Fire TV), Apple, or a smart TV? That rules some players in or out. Second, do you mostly zap between live channels or browse films and series? Grid-style players shine for live viewing; library-style players make browsing easier. Third, how patient is the person holding the remote? A simpler player with fewer menus is often the right pick for a parent’s TV.

Players come from your device’s official app store. Some publishers ask for their own licence or activation inside the app; that is between you and the publisher, so check the current price on the app’s official website. BoxReady IPTV is independent from every app publisher, and our login works the same way whichever player you choose.

Deep dive: Xtream Codes or M3U, which login should you use?

Both formats give the player the same channels. Xtream Codes splits the login into a server address, a username and a password, and the player then asks the server for live channels, films, series and the guide separately. That is why Xtream Codes players usually show neat categories and posters. An M3U link packs everything into one address that returns a playlist file. Some smart TV players only accept a link, and some PC players prefer it. On a box with a remote, Xtream Codes is shorter to type and gives a tidier library. Details for each are on the Xtream Codes and M3U playlist pages.

Internet speed for an IPTV box: what each screen needs

Speed is counted per screen that is actually playing. Here are the three numbers to remember and how to add them up.

Speed to plan for one screen

HD10 Mbps
Full HD15 Mbps
4K25 Mbps

These figures are what the stream needs at the box, not what your internet bill promises at the modem. Wi-Fi loses a lot between the router and a stick hidden behind a TV, especially through walls or floors. That is why a speed test run on your phone next to the router tells you very little. Run it on the box itself if the box has a browser or a speed-test app in its official store, or at least on a phone held where the box sits.

What is playing at the same momentSpeed to plan at the box sideIncluded in a plan?
One HD screen10 MbpsYes
One Full HD screen15 MbpsYes
One 4K screen25 MbpsYes
A 4K screen and a Full HD screen together40 MbpsOnly on request
Two 4K screens together50 MbpsOnly on request

The last two rows assume a second simultaneous connection, which a plan does not include by default. Support can tell you the conditions; the numbers simply show how much line you would need. Remember that the rest of the house is online too: video calls, game updates and phones all draw from the same connection.

Router with an Ethernet cable running to a TV box
A cable from the router removes the most common cause of buffering on a box.

Wi-Fi or a cable?

If the box has an Ethernet port and the router is in the same room, use a cable. It is the single most effective change you can make. If the router is far away, a pair of powerline adapters or a mesh point with a wired port near the TV is the next best route.

Stuck on Wi-Fi? Join the 5 GHz band, which is faster over short distances, rather than 2.4 GHz, which reaches further but gets crowded. Keep the router out in the open, up high and away from the microwave and fish tanks. More on this in Wi-Fi or Ethernet for an IPTV box.

  • Router out of cabinets and off the floor
  • Box on 5 GHz, or on a cable
  • Stick moved away from the TV back with the HDMI extender
  • Router restarted after any internet outage
Box or TV app

IPTV box or the apps in your smart TV?

Plenty of people start on the TV’s own apps and move to a box later. Here is how to know which camp you are in.

A separate box wins when

  • You want the widest choice of players, including grid-style ones
  • Your TV’s menus feel sluggish or its store lacks the player you like
  • You want an Ethernet port close to the screen
  • You plan to carry the same setup to another TV or the cottage
  • You would rather update a cheap stick than the whole TV

The TV’s own apps may be enough when

  • Your Samsung or LG set is recent and runs Smart IPTV or IBO Player smoothly
  • You prefer one remote and no extra cable
  • The TV already sits on a wired connection
  • You mostly watch in HD or Full HD

There is no wrong starting point, because the login works on both. A practical test: install the player on the TV first and use it for an evening. If channel changes feel slow, the guide lags, or the picture stutters while the rest of the house is online, plug a stick in and compare on the same channel. The difference is usually obvious within minutes. The full comparison is on IPTV box vs smart TV app, and the compare boxes hub sets the main device types side by side.

Streaming box next to a smart TV showing its built-in app menu
Same login, two routes: the TV’s own app or a box on HDMI.

What about a cable box?

A cable box is tied to one provider, one contract and usually one TV. An IPTV box is a general device: it runs whichever player you install, takes a login you can change, and moves with you. That flexibility is the main reason people switch. Our IPTV box vs cable box guide goes through the day-to-day differences, from remotes to recording habits.

If you are new to the whole idea, what is an IPTV box? starts from zero, without jargon.

4K

What a 4K IPTV box setup really needs

4K only reaches your eyes when every link in the chain supports it. Miss one and you are watching Full HD with extra steps.

A 4K TV

Check the model in the TV settings. A 1080p panel will show a 4K stream at 1080p, so the extra bandwidth is wasted.

A box with 4K output

Not every stick or box outputs 4K. Look at the display resolution menu: 2160p must be on the list.

The right HDMI port

Use a TV input that supports 4K, often labelled HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.1, and a cable rated for it.

25 Mbps at the box

Measured where the box sits, with the rest of the house online. A cable makes this far easier.

4K content

The Ultimate 4K Pack lists 57,000+ 4K channels. The other packs also include 4K, alongside HD and Full HD.

Player settings

Some players have a decoder or quality option. Leave it on automatic or hardware decoding unless support suggests otherwise.

Once all six are in place, open the box’s display settings and set the resolution to 2160p if it is not on automatic. Then play a 4K channel and press the Info or OK button: many players show the current resolution in a small overlay. If it reads 1080p, walk back up the chain. The usual culprit is the HDMI port or an old cable, not the stream. The 4K IPTV box page lists what to check, in that order.

Quick fixes

When the IPTV box is not working: fixes to try first

Most problems on a box fall into a handful of patterns. Try these in order before you write to support; you will often be watching again faster.

If the picture keeps stopping to load

Restart the router, then the box, in that order. Move the box to 5 GHz or a cable, and close other heavy uses in the house for a moment to compare.

Then: read the buffering fixes
If the player says the login is wrong

Re-type the three fields slowly. Check capitals, the letter O versus zero, and that the server address is complete. Make sure the access period has not ended.

Then: contact support with the player name
If the TV guide is empty or shifted

Refresh the EPG in the player settings, check the box clock and time zone, then adjust the time offset by whole hours.

Then: see the TV guide page
If the box is hot, slow or restarts

Give it air: no box squeezed behind the TV or on top of a warm receiver. Use the wall adapter, clear the player cache and remove apps you never open.

Then: read box running hot or slow
If one channel fails but others play

That channel may be down for a moment. Switch to another, come back later, or try the same channel in a second player on the same box.

Then: tell support which channel and when
If the sound and picture drift apart

Turn off any audio passthrough or surround setting in the player, then switch the box audio output to stereo to test.

Then: restore your settings one at a time
Deep dive: clearing the player cache on an Android or Fire TV box

On Android-based boxes, including Fire TV, each app keeps a cache of images and lists. When it grows too large, menus slow down and the player can freeze while loading the guide. Open Settings, then Applications or Apps, then the list of installed apps. Select your player, then Clear cache. Do not press Clear data unless you are ready to type your login again, because that resets the player completely. Restart the box afterwards by unplugging it from the wall for a short moment, which cools it and clears its memory too.

Each pattern has a full page in the box troubleshooting hub: box buffering fixes, Wi-Fi or Ethernet and box running hot or slow. When none of it helps, support answers 7 days a week by e-mail and WhatsApp, in English and French. Tell them your box model, your player, what you see on screen and what you already tried. That short message usually saves several rounds of questions.

Whole house

Several boxes in one home, one connection

A common setup: a stick on the bedroom TV, a box in the living room, a tablet in the kitchen. Here is how that fits with a single plan.

1simultaneous connection per pack
1·3·6·12months, paid once
7/7support by e-mail and WhatsApp

You can install the player and the same login on every device in the house. What the plan includes is one stream playing at a time. So the living room box and the bedroom stick both work, just not at the same moment. For many couples and small households that is all they need: whoever is watching uses the closest screen.

If two people regularly want to watch at the same time, ask support before ordering. They will explain the conditions and the price for an extra simultaneous screen. Nothing about this is automatic, and we prefer you know the answer before you pay rather than after.

A tidy multi-box routine

Give each device a playlist name that tells you where it lives, such as Living room or Bedroom. Build the favourites list once on the main box, then repeat it on the others. When you finish watching on one screen, press Back until you leave the stream instead of just switching the TV off, so the next screen in the house starts cleanly.

One household, one login. Using the same credentials on devices in your own home is allowed, one at a time. Sharing them with another household is not allowed and can interrupt your own viewing.

Buying guide

Buying a new IPTV box: what to check on the spec sheet

If you do need a device, a few lines on the box or the product page tell you whether it will be pleasant to use for years or frustrating within weeks.

Checklist beside a new TV box still in its packaging
Read the spec sheet before the shiny front of the box.

The short list we use ourselves

  • An official app store on the device, with the player you want listed
  • 4K output if your TV is 4K, or likely to be your next TV
  • An Ethernet port, or at least a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi radio
  • Enough storage that installing a player and a few apps leaves room to spare
  • Regular system updates from the maker
  • A remote with a proper Back button and, ideally, a microphone
  • A wall power adapter in the box, not just a USB cable

Avoid devices sold “loaded” or “pre-configured” with channels. A good box arrives empty, from a known maker, with its own official store. You add the player yourself and the login we send. That keeps you in control of updates and makes it easy to change provider or player later. Our IPTV box buying checklist prints on one page, and the best IPTV box in Canada guide explains which device families suit which homes. Device prices change often, so we leave those to the shops.

The best box is the one with an official store, a cable port and a remote you enjoy holding.

Plain words

IPTV box glossary: the terms you will meet in menus

The words that appear in player settings and in our guides, explained the way you would explain them to a neighbour.

IPTV box
Any device that runs an IPTV player and sends the picture to your TV: a stick, an Android TV or Google TV box, an Apple TV, or the TV’s own apps.
Player
The app that reads your login and shows channels, films and series. We support six of them; none is made by us.
Xtream Codes
A login made of three parts: server URL, username and password. The easiest format to type with a remote.
M3U link
A single long address that returns the full playlist. Handy on a PC or on players that only accept a link.
EPG
The electronic programme guide, the grid that shows what is on now and next. It needs the right clock and time offset.
Time offset
A setting that shifts the guide by whole hours so programme times match your time zone.
Simultaneous connection
One stream playing at a given moment. Each pack includes one; more only on request through support.
Buffering
The pause when the player waits for more video. Usually a network issue between router and box.
Ethernet
The network cable from your router to the box. Steadier than Wi-Fi and the first fix for buffering.
5 GHz and 2.4 GHz
The two common Wi-Fi bands. 5 GHz is faster near the router; 2.4 GHz reaches further but is busier.
HDMI 2.0 and 2.1
Versions of the HDMI port and cable. For 4K, use a port and a cable that support at least HDMI 2.0.
Favourites
Your own short channel list inside the player. The single best way to tame a large catalogue with a remote.

More background lives in the guide hub. On legality, the short version stays the same everywhere on this site: the technology is legal; whether a service is legal depends on the broadcasting rights it holds, so check before subscribing. The page is IPTV legal in Canada? explains that idea in more detail.

IPTV box

What an IPTV box does, in plain words

An IPTV box is simply the device that runs your IPTV player: a Fire TV Stick, an Android TV or Google TV box, an Apple TV, or the apps built into a smart TV. It connects to your internet, the player loads your channels and on-demand library with the login we e-mail you, and the box sends the picture to your TV. Our best IPTV box guide explains what to look for, and the comparison pages help you decide between a box and your TV’s own apps.

Plans are the same whatever box you use: the Premium Pack, the VIP Premium Pack and the Ultimate 4K Pack for big 4K screens. For 4K, plan 25 Mbps per screen and prefer Ethernet.

On legality: the technology is legal; whether a service is legal depends on the broadcasting rights it holds, so check before subscribing (guide).

Questions

FAQ

Do I need to buy a special IPTV box?

No. A Fire TV Stick, an Android TV box, an Apple TV or the apps on a Samsung or LG smart TV can all run an IPTV player.

Which box is best for 4K?

One that supports 4K output, has a good Wi-Fi 5 GHz radio or an Ethernet port, and runs the player you like. Plan 25 Mbps per 4K screen.

Can I use the same plan on two boxes?

Yes, installed on both and used one at a time. For two boxes playing simultaneously, ask support for the conditions.

How fast do I get my login?

Within minutes in most cases, by e-mail, as soon as payment is confirmed.

Do you sell the boxes?

No. We provide the IPTV plans and setup guides; you use a box or TV you already own or buy elsewhere.

Which player should I install first?

On a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box, start with IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate. On an Apple TV, GSE Smart IPTV. On a Samsung or LG smart TV, Smart IPTV or IBO Player. All come from the device’s official store.

Does my plan renew by itself?

No. You pay once for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, by card or PayPal in Canadian dollars. When the period ends, access stops until you choose to order again.

What internet speed do I need?

Plan 10 Mbps for an HD screen, 15 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps for 4K, measured at the box. Add them up if more than one screen plays at once.

Why does my box buffer when my internet is fast?

Usually because the Wi-Fi between router and box is weak, not the line itself. Switch to 5 GHz or a cable, restart router and box, and move a stick away from the TV back.

Is the TV guide included?

Yes, the player loads it with your login. If it stays empty, refresh the EPG in the player settings and check the clock and time offset on the box.

Can I ask a question before buying?

Yes. Support answers 7 days a week by e-mail and WhatsApp, in English and French, including questions about languages in the catalogue or extra screens.

Your box is ready. Are you?

Pick a plan, get your login by e-mail and follow the guide for your box.
